The Cooperatives Management, Accounting and Liquid Soap Making Training was organized on January 19, 2022 at Ban Mae La Oon Temporary Shelter for 15 participants and on January 20, 2022 at Ban Mae Lama Luang Temporary Shelter in Mae Hong Son Province’s Sob Moei District, for 14 participants.
The training in Ban Mae La Oon was focused on principles of cooperatives; cooperative management; roles and responsibilities of leaders; monitoring and evaluation; basic accounting; liquid soap making procedure and ingredient cost calculator.
The objectives of the training were to enable the board of directors of the cooperative to understand the management of cooperatives and basic accounting, so as to be well prepared for the operation of cooperative in the community. Cooperative which is owned by community members who understood the value of people’s participation, is a place that provides essential goods and services needed by community villagers. COERR’s camp-based refugee staff were equipped with cooperative management knowledge so that they should be capable of providing advice for cooperative members and monitoring the operation of the cooperative.
The training in Ban Mae Lama Luang was focused on knowledge about group management, roles and responsibilities of leaders, monitoring and evaluation of the program, principles of cooperatives; data utilization and record management; liquid soap making, accounting and marketing, cost and profit calculator of liquid soap making, etc.
